Our online video consultation
The online video consultation is a conversation (e.g. initial presentation or follow-up) in which doctor and patient do not sit opposite each other in a doctor's room, but can talk to each other and see each other via a video connection on a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Technically, the communication takes place via a certified video service provider and is end-to-end encrypted for data protection reasons.
The aim of the online video consultation is to advise and support patients in the context of diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation or second opinions; however, it does not replace medical action. It is a complementary component of the conventional doctor's consultation and can thus contribute significantly to increasing the quality of medical care.
Reasons: Sick people, for example, cannot leave their homes when weakened, and people who live in remote areas or have limited mobility can receive medical care. Organisational or logistical reasons, such as a long journey to the clinic, also speak for the advantage of an online video consultation.
Procedure: The doctor contacts the patient at the time chosen by him online
Costs: The consultation is billed via the health insurance company within the scope of the statutory benefits (analogous to a visit to a doctor's practice) and is recognised by all Swiss health insurers.
