With the help of a tinnitus analysis the frequency and volume of the tinnitus can be accurately determined by playing back various sounds to the patient and having the patient compare these to the „own tinnitus“. Another test shows whether the sounds in the ear can be obscured or “disguised” by other sounds. Hereby the examiner determines the volume and frequency of the overlapping sounds.
